It can be a fine balance teaching kids about potentially difficult subject matters. In these animations about Ancient Maya we had to deal with human sacrifice and the afterlife. We tackled it be telling the stories through the eyes of a young girl called Jade Skirt.
Full of character
The project required us to research and design characters as varied as priests, warriors and mythical cloud gods. Throughout it was important to still keep them engaging for the young target audience.
7 animations, 7 minutes
One of the big challenges of the project was condensing such a rich history in to short form content. We worked alongside multiple to educational experts to pull out the most crucial information and wrote it as a narrative story, through the eyes of Jade Skirt.
