North Wales Police - Arrive Alive Driving Simulator
Thursday, 30 June 2005
“Our vehicle simulation technology is the most realistic available so drivers get a full experience of controlling a car, and so are made to consider the safety implications of their driving. This project has been a great opportunity to utilise our technology in an application that is of real social value.”

Splinter has just finished the Arrive Alive Driving Simulator, which will be housed in the North Wales Community Safety Centre and opens Sept 2005.

The simulator is aimed at 15-18 year olds who are potential/newly qualified drivers and highlights the risks and consequences involved with dangerous driving.

The driver will have to negotiate a layed-out track featuring road hazards and other obstacles. The driver is constantly monitored to ensure road sense and handling is upheld at all times. The user will be penalised for speeding, wreckless driving or other offenses.

What makes this such an exciting project is the technology used is based on real-time car data, it employs the latest computer game graphics – giving the driver the most realist experience possible.
