The concept of DangerPoint has been developed by North Wales Police and the key agencies responsible for Safety in North Wales. DangerPoint's agenda is to provide a dedicated centre to provide Personal, Community and Road Safety education to all parts of the North Wales community.
We have just produced both the new website for DangerPoint. The ultimate goal of the project is to produce a real-time 3D navigable virtual representation of the centre. DangerPoint may then be visited, and the space experienced, by anybody with access to the internet.
Built using CSS, the Dangerpoint site is an example of how we are adopting best practice for website building through the use of web standards. This approach promotes increased accessibility for screen readers, mobile devices and search engines, as well as providing leaner code and faster download times for the user.
Having produced Drive School we are now working with them to produce a range of interactive learning materials covering diverse safety topics such as Building Sites, Farms and Transport. These materials must all hit cross curriculum targets. DangerPoint has been initially targeted at the KS2 curriculum, but will develop to encompass KS3 and KS4.
