Splinter has just been recognised as an Investor In People. As a company we strongly believe in the benefits of well trained and motivated staff. In particular, we try to ensure that all employees are multi-skilled to ensure that the company is flexible enough to ensure that projects are completed on time, and to budget.
The staff at Splinter receive a rich mix of project management, business development, sector specific and personal development training. In particular, designers have benefited from The International Centre for Digital Content's (ICDC) sector specific skill development programme. Staff have also received driving lessons to meet the demands of their hectic design and management schedules!
The staff had a lot to say in their 'confidential' meetings with the assessor, however they do not mind sharing some of the quotes that the assessor from the Centre for Assessment and Recognition reported on as follows:
"Open communication means that we all get on very well together. It's wonderful to have a job here, feeling a part of the whole thing."
"I've had good feedback with my appraisal, but it happens every day. There's a lot of praise and recognition here. My ideas are listened to and welcomed."
"You couldn't get anyone better than (name omitted to avoid embarrassment!) to explain things to you. There is not much available outside for the sort of things we want - our people are leaders in the field."
These are just a few of the quotes from people at Splinter - we hope you appreciate us as much as we do ourselves! - and a big thank you to our partners who helped us achieve the award. Splinter were supported by Business Link for Greater Merseyside and The Partnership for Learning Programme and were assessed by the Centre for Assessment and Recognition (NW) Ltd. |
