Liverpool City Council have worked with Splinter to produce educational and interactive CD-roms. Their dedication and knowledge of the projects evidenced throughout the creative output, project management and innovative approach to their work. I would recommend Splinter to other organisations and I look forward to working with them on future projects." Fiona Flemming, Head of Marketing, Liverpool City Council. Splinter won a competitive pitch and produced Echoes of Ireland an interactive CDROM to educate children at Key Stage 2 level about the City of Liverpool's historic Irish community. The CDROM is fully interactive and includes sound, video footage, animation and music, as well as original photographs. The CD may be utilised as a classroom resource by the teacher, or alternatively it may be explored by the individual user. The CDROM is being distributed to all schools in the city, as well as museums and libraries. In addition, to being sent to Dublin - Liverpool’s twin city – and all libraries and education establishments in Ireland. The client was very pleased with the product and has commissioned us to produce and research the next KS2 title in the series: World In One City. Splinter new media designer Jon Raffe won the Best New Talent Award at North West's Digital Design The Big Chip Awards 2005 for his work on Echoes of Ireland. The judges felt that Echoes stood out for “both quality ofexecution and depth of material...it was a thoroughly immersive piece of work revealing talent in not only 2D design, but also in turning disparate forms of information into an engaging whole”. |
