Splinter was commissioned by ECOTEC to produce the practitioner materials for the Professional Certificate in Effective Practice (Youth Justice).
This involved the design and print of fifteen 160-page A5 readers along with numerous other publications and binding solutions.
The project centred on the management of the project rather than the design and creativity brief. The requirements for this project were:
- Educational Content – this had to be clear and concise with easy to find references within the pack
- Delivery – the deadlines for the project were tight and it was imperative that they were met without compromising quality
- Quality – the quality of the packs themselves, the presentation and print was essential
- Consistency – the packs had to be uniform in style and consistent throughout the range
Splinter managed the project from inception to conclusion. Samantha Spyron, Project Manager for the Youth Justice Board Development and Support Team at ECOTEC has stated:
“Splinter has supported our development team in providing learning materials for a whole suite of programmes in the public sector. They have supported us by designing and co-ordinating the editing and production process of our materials"......”Splinter has worked closely with ECOTEC to devise a ‘Project Process Flow Chart’, to integrate design considerations throughout the project lifecycle. We completed both the Arts Enrichment and Professional Certificate projects within the two-month allotted schedule, and are now negotiating with ECOTEC for two further print and digital learning solutions.
Samantha Spyron continues: “Their professional, helpful, flexible and reliable approach to work has allowed us to produce high quality materials to incredibly tight deadlines. It has been a pleasure working with the organisation and I would not hesitate to recommend them in the production of public sector materials.”
