Splinter and Mair Education have successfully tendered for the TravelWise educational resources contract. We are pleased to be working with Mair Education and the TravelWise team again and will deliver new media and printed resources on behalf of the Local Transport Plan (LTP) Partnership.
The Merseyside LTP Partnership consists of Merseytravel and the five district councils of Merseyside – Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Wirral. TravelWise is the partnership’s campaign to help people on Merseyside make sustainable transport choices - public transport, walking, cycling and using cars wisely.
Splinter will design a CDROM, on-line and printed resources for the Autumn term 2008. The aim of the resource is to establish School Travel Planning as a core curriculum activity in all schools across Merseyside. We have extensive experience of producing learning resources, using a range of delivery platforms and targeted at different Key Stage audiences. An appropriate balance needs to be drawn between the resources being engaging and dynamic, to appeal to the users, whilst remaining practical to use for teachers, and meeting the budgetary requirements of the client.
Emma Hurst, TravelWise Officer said “We are very pleased to be working with Splinter on this project, the resource will enable Merseyside’s schools to embed sustainable transport within the curriculum.“
