We are very pleased to have an ongoing supply contract with Knowsley Housing Trust, and have just produced their Annual Report 2005-6. While the report needed to feature the usual statistical information, KHT wanted something unique that would set their report apart from those by other housing trusts.

The concept for this years report, and KHT’s whole ethos, is ‘Changing Perspectives’. For this Splinter took an approach of hiding and revealing content through the use of coloured films. This worked by using red film over a red ink, the right combination of the two causes the content in red to ‘vanish’. This gave the report a level of interactivity as well as unique tactile experience. The whole project was printed on smooth matt coated material which adds to the quality feel of the project and works as a perfect complement to the high gloss of the coloured films. The cover was printed on a very tactile stock called Plike which has a rubbery feel, adding another level of interest to the document. Everything was then bound, loose leaf, with three silver screws. At KHT’s AGM the report was greatly received with stakeholders commenting on its quality feel and unique design and production.
