"Liverpool City Council have worked with Splinter to produce educational and interactive CDROMs. During this time, we have developed an excellent working relationship with the team and they have proven themselves in terms of their absolute commitment to our projects. Their dedication and knowledge of the project is evidenced throughout the creative output, project management and innovative approach to their work. I would recommend Splinter to other organisations and I look forward to working with them on future projects". Fiona Fleming, Head of Marketing, Liverpool City Council
World in one City is a Key stage 2 history title about the 800 year History of Liverpool and its communities. It includes flash animation, video, audio and html features.
The title will be launched and distributed to schools in Liverpool as part of the lead up to Liverpool 2008 Capital of Culture celebrations. The CDROM is an interactive e-learning resource to support the KS2 History curriculum. The CD may be used as a classroom resource by the teacher, or alternatively it may be explored by the individual user.
The use of intuitive interfaces will promote creative exploration, enabling the user to manipulate many of the elements catering to different learning styles and methods, and ultimately, giving a sense of ownership. By using new media software (Flash8) we are able to offer a media rich experience to the user, whilst maintaining accessibility and creative license for users. The World in one City title vividly demonstrates our expertise in combining curriculum based content with design that appeals to and excites learners, resulting in the most successful learning outcomes. |
