Drive School was launched at the Dangerpoint Safety Centre, North Wales, on 14th October. The launch event was attended by the First Minister for Wales, the regions Chief Constable and many other dignitaries from both public and private organisations.
Splinter along with Liverpool based computer simulation specialists Lateral Visions have just completed the commission to
provide a superior education resource for Arrive Alive, the North Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership. The driving simulator game is aimed at young drivers to teach them to drive responsibly, and is being described as a landmark interactive learning solution.
We are hoping to develop the driving simulator game across the UK so that people in and around cities such as Liverpool can also benefit.
Splinter MD Chris Beer said: “This has been a great product to work on with the opportunity to use cutting edge design technology. It has also tested our learning solutions experience in full and we believe as a result that the product’s quality is comparable with the best computer games currently on the market.”
Lateral Visions’ MD Dr Carl Gavin said: “Our vehicle simulation technology is the most realistic available so drivers get a full experience of controlling a car, and so are made to consider the safety implications of their driving. This project has been a great opportunity to utilise our technology in an application that could be of real social value to Merseyside and other regions of the UK too.” |
