We at Splinter are eagerly awaiting the kick off to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and have decked the office with the participating country’s flags. All we need now is our Bubuzela’s and we’ll be sorted.

Just when Rachael thought it was safe to breathe, and another birthday had slipped by unnoticed, there was a surprise package of cake like goodies delivered to her at the office from a mystery sender!
Packed to the brim of chocs, fudge, mints and a cake sporting the words “Rachael voted UKIP”. There was much scratching of heads from the birthday girl. Further detective work revealed the mystery sender was her lovely hubby.
Happy Birthday Rach, good luck trying to protect the chocs from the Splinter boys!
p.s. We have it on good authority that she didn’t vote UKIP but Monster Raving Looney. If the cap fits..

The first of six interpretation panels have been installed at Rhuddlan Nature Reserve. Local children have been involved in the design process throughout. The panels feature information on Rhuddlan Castle, the former railway station and the flora and fauna of the site.

The panels were illustrated by Steven Woods who really enjoys producing intricate isometric maps. The panels were completed soon after a new campus map for Edge Hill University and Steven is really eager for anybody wanting this kind of map to get in touch. The bigger the better as far as he is concerned!

We are chuffed that we have just won the contract to brand the Clwydian Range AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). We are very pleased to be partnering Hi-Clarity Communications on this project.
We are also due to launch the new website for the AONB soon, watch this space for details!

We can finally tell you all about an exciting new project we did for ACC Liverpool. We put together an interactive display for them featuring “augmented reality” technology, which merges live video footage with 3D interactive graphics.
The stand was unveiled for the first time at Confex, an international exhibition in London for event organisers and venues across the world, and went down really, really well!
Jacquie Rogers, general manager of the BT Convention Centre, said: “We wanted to do something which was a bit different, utilising cutting-edge technology to give our stand an extra wow factor.”
You can get more info and see a video demo over in our portfolio.

Fantastic news just in…. We were absolutely delighted to hear that The Well has been nominated for an International Digital Emmy in the Children & Young People category.

There was a scary noise coming from the Splinter house today. It was the noise of Rachael vacuuming in the back of the studio. Not only was she tidying for the first time in her life, but she also assembled the unfamiliar piece of machinery together. After aggressively fighting her ground to ensure that we did not purchase a Henry Hoover, she ordered the penultimate Vax Mach 5. Now we have remembered the original colour of the carpet is in fact, a charming shade of blue.
Rachael presented Go! TravelWise to 35 of Liverpool’s Primary and Secondary Personal and Social Health Education (PSHE) teachers. The Go! TravelWise interactive games, websites and lesson plan packs introduce sustainable travel options into the classroom. Despite a heavy cold she still felt she let the side down slightly by taking a taxi to the venue.
