NHS Flu fighter award = Happy Kev

Happy Kev

One of the campaigns Splinter worked on for Liverpool Community Health has just won an NHS Flu Fighter award, for ‘most innovative campaign’.

This is the happiest Kev has ever looked!

Everyone’s a winner baby!

Hot off the press this very afternoon is the fantastic news that Splinter alongside Matt from Dupe Creative have helped our lovely client Liverpool Community Health beat the Flu!

The award is given by the NHS Employers Organisation (NHSFluFighters) in partnership with the Social Partnership Forum who work extensively to increase the rates of flu vaccination amongst NHS staff.

Our fun and lighthearted campaign to encourage NHS staff to get vaccinated against the flu featured some very well known staff members parodying 1950′s information photos alongside humorous captions and helped LCH achieve a 71.6% uptake on the vaccination!

Kev, the mastermind behind the visuals (with a bit of creative input from Me and Rach) and Matt (the intrepid photographer) hot footed it to the awards ceremony in Leeds today to receive the award along with the clever team at LCH!

Well done guys!

Chris (in the same room as!) Stephen Fry at Lovies

The glitterati of digital geek chic were partying at the Lovies in London last week. Including our very own MD; Chris as Splinter won not one but two prestigious Lovie Awards. ‘Lovie of the Year’ Stephen Fry, was honoured in recognition of his innovative, engaged approach to Twitter and personal website. The Lifetime Achievement award went to Professor Heinz Gerhauser who created the MP3.

The Lovies applaud the cream of Europe’s web and interactive design. Splinter were recognised for our Famous People games designed for BBC schools. We were chuffed to have also scooped the People’s choice vote in the Education category, with over 80% of the vote.

In the web category Splinter achieved a bronze award alongside the likes of JK Rowling’s Pottermore, the British Heart Foundation, The Sunday Times and Moshi Monsters sites, Gold went to the London 2012 Olympics and Crome Weblab.

What ho! A Lovie award for Famous People!

Lovie award Famous People

Following on from the recent good news about the BIMA’s, we had some more ace news that the Famous People games we did for BBC Primary History have been awarded a bronze Lovie Award in the Education category. We’re in some esteemed company, judging by the winners list, so massive thanks to the Lovie folks for the award.

And on top of that, there’s a People’s Choice vote, so if you have a spare minute to cast a vote our way, that would be legendary!

If you want to play the Famous People games then head on over here.
