Splinter work Well with Conker Media

For the past 6 months Splinter have busily been developing the games for Conker Media’s multi-platform digital fiction event, The Well; created for BBC Switch.

The Well has aired on BBC Two, Saturdays 1.15 -1.25pm. Extending online where the audience can immerse themselves further in the story, exploring a spookily atmospheric recreation of the main drama location in a multi-level game. By engaging with The Well online through completing a series of tasks and challenges the audience can unlock hidden drama content which reveals the backstory to the TV drama.

J8 summit website

J8 is the junior wing of G8 and gives young people the chance to develop their own ideas about the most pressing global issues today, discuss them with their friends, classmates and young people from around the world, and present them to the leaders of eight of the most powerful countries in the world.

The site was continually developed, with features being added right up until the summit took place in the summer of 2007. Whilst the event was taking place additional tools were implemented encouraging communication between delegates and users worldwide, and the wider dissemination of information.

Go! TravelWise

CLEO Games

CLEO are 1 of 10 English Regional Broadband Consortia (RBCs). Two examples of solutions we have provided them are 4 bespoke FS –KS3 online games designed to stimulate learning, and an audio storyboard media player. All of the products were custom built for CLEO’s CMS (Content Management System). All of the games are unique and highly innovative in their design and style and fully address the pedagogical requirements determined by the learning specialists. Teachers may make variants of the games to suit their own subject requirements, and save them to a repository and made available to other teachers across the region.

Liverpool partners Shanghai

Splinter designed and produced the Liverpool Shanghai Partnership website with a bespoke CMS (Content Management System) allowing the site to be easily updated in both English and Chinese.

The Cities of Liverpool and Shanghai became International Sister Cities in 1999. The two cities share many similarities, including the waterfronts, maritime industries, football, and a history of innovation and change.

AFL website and brand development

AFL are a well established Architectural Practice, based in both Liverpool and Manchester, and with an international client-base. They specialise in Sports design, but also have expertise in the Urban Design, Residential, Healthcare and Commercial sectors, and undertake Interior and Refurbishment Design projects. Splinter won a pitch to update and refresh their brand look and feel, incorporating this into the design of a new website: www.afl-uk.com

We used strong, clean looking design to create user friendly pages that really make their work jump off the page and showcase to the best possible advantage.

TJP branding

Tokyo Jazz Panda specialise in importing unique gifts and homeware from Asia. They approached Splinter to produce an identity which was both memorable and reflected the products that they sell. TJPs first outlet opened in December 2006.

Splinter Make It Global

Junction K, on behalf of the Northwest Regional Development Agency has just launched www.makeit.org.uk. The site explains, and promotes the potential of careers within the manufacturing industry. Splinter developed the Make Global section of the site.

World Museum Liverpool launch

World Museum Liverpool is a complete re-branding of the old Liverpool Museum after it’s £35 million pound redevelopment, completed in April 2008. We were approached by National Museums Liverpool to create a fun and vibrant campaign to change the image of the museum from a dusty old relic reserved for students or school children, to a new and exciting place to enjoy on a day trip for anyone of any age.

We were asked to produce a comprehensive set of 6 ideas based on elements of the museum. By focusing on the most popular attractions like Dinosaurs and the Egyptian era, we created a fun, lively campaign to engage all ages and social groups. This campaign has been spread across billboards and underground poster sites, large vinyl banners situated in the portico of the elegant museum building, and throughout the streets of Liverpool City centre. Taxi graphics have also proved to be a colouful and invaluable way to promote the museum around the city. We have also produced numerous digital materials to reinforce the campaigns such as viral applications, desktops and screensavers.
